PaKua Martial Arts
This complete martial art gives the student comprehension of themselves as well as their surroundings. Pa-Kua focuses on personal development and is most identifiable by its circular form of martial arts. It uses the opponent's energy against them, and extensive studies of Martial Art tactics add the self-confidence that will significantly benefit anyone. There are many people concerned about if the martial art is right for them or if they will be able to do a martial art class. In Pakua Huntington Beach you will learn martial arts from very well trained, certified and experianced staff of PaKua masters and instructors.
Who Practices Martial Arts?
Pa-Kua martial arts is for all ages and abilities. We have separate classes for Pee-Wee martial arts ages 4-7, Kids martial arts ages 8-12, Teens martial arts 13-16, Adults, and Seniors. We have had students from 3 Years to 104 Years old! There are classes from Beginner to Advanced. All of the classes are taught by Internationally Certified Masters and Instructors who are recertified by the PaKua International League annually. Private martial art classes are available, General class sizes range from 2 to 8 people in a class. Please call to find out which class time will work best for you. All classes on our schedule can be attended by any level student. Advanced classes are not listed.
What will you learn in Martial Arts?
In a safe non-competitive environment, you will learn the Traditional Chinese Knowledge of Pa-Kua. This consists of stand-up and ground fighting techniques including but not limited to: Striking, pressure points, levers, manipulations, sweeps, throws, locks (submission) and chokes. You will also develop the internal aspects of Pa-Kua through meditation, breathing techniques, and forms. Everything is taught in a progressive manner so that you will be prepared for each step along the way by studying in class with your Master or Instructor.
How will you benefit from learning Martial Arts?
You will gain the Confidence to lead the life you want with peace by having the techniques and training from the Martial Art to overcome your daily fears and anxiety. That means you have more energy to focus on the life you wish to live and enjoy. The Chinese theory is that our body is a reflection of our mind and vice versa. Thus, by stretching, improving coordination, and increasing strength, you will benefit in many internal ways as well, including the release of endorphins which is one of the many reasons you will feel better after every class! Training of slow forms will improve harmony and growth of internal and physical well being. Pa-Kua is a complete art which gives its practitioner a better sense of self confidence, increased concentration, augmented coordination, and improved flexibility.

Kids Martial Arts is given to kids from age 4 and up. Children significantly benefit from the system that is built to suit their needs. The martial arts games, the kicks and punches, as well as the connections with other kids found through Pa-Kua Martial Arts, serve to increase the child's confidence, self-esteem, and social skills. At the same time Pa-Kua Martial Arts teaches the child to respect peers and elders, works on the student's focus and control, and offers the student with the tools required for the full life that lies ahead. This always occurs in a positive atmosphere.
The many benefits of Pa-Kua Martial Arts for kids are clearly noticeable and shown in the child's school work, behavior at home, and interaction with family or friends. The classes for children are conducted in a completely safe and professional atmosphere, by Instructors and Masters who make sure the children develop their skills in complete safety.
Overall Benefits of Pa-Kua-
Learning about Nutrition and why to eat better
Improved sense of Self-Awareness
Improved Social Skills
Improved flexibility, strength and coordination
Practice- The Children will work on many different exercises such as stretching and controlling their breathing, and holding positions that will require balance, strength, or flexibility, sometimes requiring all three as the student progresses. This is always done in a fun and enthusiastic environment with music.
Benefits- When we are born we have amazing flexibility. Then, gradually as we get older, we lose that natural flexibility and must work at it. By having your child attend these children’s yoga classes they are able to stretch and maintain that flexibility throughout their life. Yoga has also been proven by case studies to help them regulate their emotions, manage stress, and calm themselves. Studies now show that they may also choose better foods to eat and engage in more physical activity than children who do not study yoga.
Most Pa-Kua schools offer an introductory class in which the student can try out a class before enrolling. The parents can even stay and observe their child participate in the class.

Construction of Pa-Kua Huntington Beach began on May 1st of 2003. The Studio held its Grand Opening on April 1st, 2003 that was filled with students, friends and of course family! From the very beginning Master Elizabeth Filleti and Master Jason Landau had a goal of working with the community to help both young and old reach their personal goals. They founded the Pa-Kua Huntington Beach Studio with those goals as well as the desire to provide a positive family environment for everyone to be able to learn Pa-Kua. Pa-Kua Huntington Beach is now one of the highest and most reviewed studio in Orange County, California.
In the summer of 2008 Pa-Kua Huntington Beach moved to a new location at 4952 Warner Ave. Suite #101 in Huntington Beach, California directly across the street from the first studio. The new location offered two training mats, café, changing area and large office. This has kept our class sizes nice at 2 to 10 students per class since we can offer 2 different classes each hour.
Pa-Kua Huntington Beach participates in many community events each year such as: HB July 4th Parade, L.A. Chinese New Year Parade, Senior Saturday at H.B. Pier, Pa-Kua National Gathering and many more! We also have supported many charities/events such as: American Heart Association, MS Walk, Soles 4 Souls, Teens for Jeans, Rodgers Senior Center as well as many, many more.
